Why, hello there!

So, this has been quite the eventful last few weeks, I made an attempt 2 weekends ago to make sugar cookies with frosting decorations for 4 birthdays in our family that will be happening through November and December. On that Sunday we were going to celebrate all the birthdays because that was the only time everyone could be together for the occasion. So you have my sister-in-law; Sa, My nephew; the Goof, my soon-to-be-brother-in-law; Pax, and my youngest niece; Princess. I had a thought that I should make them each 5 cookie designs that depicted who they are.
(If you need me to explain what they are, I will)

Here is Sa's:

Here are Goof's:

Here are Pax's:
(don't judge the ugly circle to harshly, it was part of a motorcycle but it just didn't work and I was late)

Here's Princess's:
(Her's kept breaking on me, I'm surprised Minnie Mouse turned out at all!)

So, there you have it! Chewbaca was the tastiest though... mmmm chocolate! All the frosting you see here (even the decorations) were made out of cream cheese frosting. Now as a warning, cream cheese doesn't work the same as buttercream, it's a lot more fragile and breaks so much faster than buttercream. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

This last Sunday, I was pleased to hear my dad speak in his formal military uniform. He spoke to the congregation about service with an emphasis on military service. He honored our Veterans and talked about the sacrifices they gave. They he spoke about how Christ had sacrifice's that he made for our sake and how he is the true image of service. It was so nice! He even had Veterans from WWII all the way to current times stand up one conflict at a time. I was actually amazed! A lot of those men I grew up being in the same congregation as but never new of the service they served. It just made me wonder, who else has been doing things on my behalf that I have been unaware of? I also appreciated what my Dad said about war, (I mess it up but I think I remember it pretty well) "I think few people actually like war, but there are many of us who say, 'We had to try'."

So on Veterans Day, I had something wonderful happen. I went to my first prenatal visit, I picked Hubby up from work, and we got to hear our little one's heartbeat for the first time. When I heard it I started laughing which made my poor doctor have to go find the little guy again, but I was just so overwhelmed with joy I couldn't contain it! My baby is there. My baby is growing. My baby is coming! His little heartbeat sounded like a little space ship or something, it was so cool!

I've been sick since Friday, so sick that I have been throwing up at least once every evening. I thought it was because of the baby, but Hubby has a theory that it's because I'm actually sick and the baby doesn't like it. So I talked to my good ol' doc and she told me that the best thing I can do for it is drink some ginger ale, grin, and bear it! My body threatened me last night to give me a fever, but I took some tylenol, drank some ginger ale, and went to bed. I'm still a little queasy, but I should be fine to go to work tomorrow.

Note**: If you are feeling super nauseous, don't eat salad as the only part of your dinner. If you do... you will NOT like it at all!! You have been WARNED!
P.S. Thanks Mom for saving me and for cleaning my dishes, that was awesome of you! :)

Good Morning Starshine!......ug

With my Mom telling me that she didn't get morning sickness with all her kids I have been getting pretty hopeful that the same will go for me. I don't like throwing up, never have never will. It seems like such a waste to throw up your prenatal and food from that morning. "Well," I thought, "ok, I can do this, I'm not going to get morning sickness".

Here I am in week 7 and so far, I've just been super nauseous at work and food has lost its appeal later in the day. I work in a school so this week there is a break. This is the very first day of the break and what do I get? Morning Sickness.... ug.

I feel awful, I don't even want to leave the house to go wash laundry because I feel... ug. There is always something you aren't prepared for when it comes to pregnancy and my first one is Morning Sickness. Please, any thoughts for me about Morning Sickness, comment, I need to know how to feel better faster.

So far I've heard of:
1. Eat, even though you don't feel like it
2. Deep breaths

On a happier note, Hubby has made dinner the last couple of nights (because like I said before, food in the evening has lost its appeal) and he did something really clever!  He wanted to make Chicken Pot Pies but without the crust, so instead he changed some minor things about the recipe and made it into kind of a stew that we put on homemade bread or rice. It was a pleasant surprise that it turned out so well, he's just smart like that. Gold star for the Hubby!

Oh, Happy Day!

So, I've had quite the week, I haven't posted because of this exciting week. My Dramakazi niece's birthday was on the 18th of the month and so I had the perfect gift idea for her, but before telling you what it is, here's the story that inspired me.

(P.S. I crochet toys a lot and give them to nieces and nephews for birthdays)

A couple months ago, my nieces (Red Curse and Dramakazi) began to find the new "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" very entertaining. THEY LOVE IT! Dramakazi even has the new Equestria Girls movie. Yeah. Movie. Well, she loves it so much that she started drawing her own ponies. One of these ponies is her interpretation of what she would look like as a pony. It's super cute, she is a pink pony with brown hair pink wings with brown tips and a skull cutie mark. She showed her mom this picture and said, "Mom, can you ask Aunt {Me} to make my pony come to life?"(Meaning have me crochet her pony into life).

Well, seriously, can you resist something so sweet! She thinks I have magic!!!! It's awesome!

My sweet husband and I were brainstorming over what we should give Dramakazi for her birthday and then that story popped into my head and I knew: I was going to make her pony come to life.

I only have about 5 minutes in my day to work on crochet, so for two weeks I crocheted and crocheted and sewed everything together on Sunday and, with her back turned I said "Dramakazi? Who is this?" She turned around and started screaming "THAT'S ME! THAT'S ME!" while jumping up and down, she also told me very earnestly, "I'm going to take it EVERYWHERE. I will never leave the house without it."

:) -I love that :)

Pictures will come soon

Oh, speaking of Sunday. It was my birthday!!!! I was really spoiled this weekend, Hubby took me out to a really nice restaurant and bought me a nice snazzy sewing machine. My family is really nice too! My older brother picked out a beautiful jewelry set for me, and my older sister got me a pretty pearl bracelet, and my little sister got me a jacket (which was MUCH needed, it's getting cold!) and Parents gave birthday money. The only reason why I mention this is because, how nice is that? I mean, they didn't have to do that and they did! I thought that that was really sweet of everyone and I'm so excited to be able to use/wear everything! I actually already wore the jacket because it's cozy and warm :)

Here's my pregnancy update:

I've been feeling kind of nauseous lately, but not to bad. The cramps are what's killing me though, sometimes they are super bad! I talked to a nurse that's associated with my doctor and she said that it's ok and to take tylenol if I need it. But, I didn't bother with the tylenol because I doubt it would do anything, whenever I have had muscle cramps in the past it did nothing for me.

I'm six weeks along! It seems like the weeks have gone by super fast and I'm excited to make some new maternity clothes during the winter!

Have an awesome week!

It has begun

To let you know a bit about us, Hubby and I have been married for 3 months, before that engaged for 9 months, and before that dated for 3 months, and before that were friends for 8 years.

I loved our wedding it was amazing! But we both knew that we needed something else in our lives as well.

After a lot of talking about it and getting a financial plan put together for future purposes and a month of trying, I can officially say: I'M PREGNANT!

Yeah. Pregnant. The baby is about 3-4 weeks old right now and I will know my real due date when I see my doctor at the 8 week period but the estimated due date is May 27th. So, let's see if I was right. :)

I found it interesting that people kept telling me all the things I would feel when I barely get pregnant.
1. Breasts will hurt so bad that you can't stand it.
2. You'll feel so nauseous that you want to hurl all the time.
3.  You're too tired to do anything.

Well..... My symptoms are I have minor cramping after eating or drinking anything with lemon in it and I get hungry a lot faster than I use to oh and my breasts get irritated but don't hurt.

So, no, my pregnancy is not like anyone else's and I don't expect anyone's to be like mine. I'm excited for this new adventure.

Speaking of being excited, Hubby and I went to DI on Friday to try and find some clothing for our costumes for Halloween this year. While we were there I remembered that the teacher I'm working with asked me to keep an eye out for toys at thrifts stores for her that would work really well with our class. So I started hunting in the toy section and found a few really nice toys that the kids we work with would like, but I also found this beauty:

Hubby and I are totally keeping it. For the baby, of course. Even though we might play with it more. I love it! When you play the notes it pops the balls up, and the horn makes a quiet beep sound, and the best part of it all is: IT DOESN'T TALK! I'm a die hard believer that toys should not talk or make noises electronically. They are too annoying and I believe kids have a greater imagination than modern toy companies give them credit for.

Also, this weekend, I went on an online search for cheap maternity clothes. I found this one lady who lives locally that was selling 22 clothing items for $50, I was worried that the clothing might not fit so we met in person and almost everything fit and was in really good shape. Now I'm totally set to have this baby and look awesome while I do it. Happy me :)

I'm excited and hope to keep you posted in the future!
